Slight Plateau

Tuesday was one of those "two steps forward and one step back" kind of days for Lee. On the "positive and praises" side, the increased rate of her tube feeding was successful and she's now up to about half of her pre-surgical rate. There was also progress on Thor's weight loss plan as two additional medications were transitioned away from IV to either oral or "opposite" (another vague description to avoid ruining breakfast for the squeamish) administration routes.
In the "challenges and prayer requests" column, the localized anesthetic that had been so effectively controlling her pain in the surgical field faltered a bit on one side yesterday. There are two separate probes, one on each side of her abdomen, and the left side where the majority of her incision and internal suturing occurred had a significant uptick in what Lee described as a searing type "nerve pain". The anesthesia group was very responsive but struggled throughout the day to adjust and get that side back to a more comfortable level. Only so much local anesthesia can be applied to the overall abdomen so adjusting one side forces a change to the other. The good news is that by late last night they had successfully scaled back the right side and seemed to have regained control on the left. Prayers for continuation of this delicate balance today and beyond are very much appreciated.
Today marks three weeks since Lee was admitted so you can likely understand how anxious she is to get home. Thanks for all of the cards and notes along with your prayers that have helped her pass the time. I promise that she is reading each and every one even if you don't hear back from her directly. Thanks once again for checking in!

We are still praying that you will get through another procedure. Larry just had a knee replacement surgery last Thursday and is finally getting better. Praying that God will place his healing hand on you and that your pain will not be as bad as you have endured. Love you 💖
