Hopeful

The first half of yesterday was really tough as Lee continued to battle unrelenting nausea and reflexive vomiting. Thankfully she was blessed with an amazing nurse and some quality time with her surgeon who put their heads together and formulated a plan for some changes to her medication regimen in the hope fo stopping this cycle.
The working theory was that the amounts of IV medication Lee was receiving without anything else in her system were likely causing her symptoms. After consultation with the anesthesia team they decided to place some small "probes" directly in to her abdomen and directly apply anesthetic agent in the area of her incisions. The net result is a significant improvement in her pain levels without the impacts of IV medications.
By last night Lee reported significant improvement with both her pain in the surgical field and her nausea and vomiting. If these improvements hold then the plan for today is to begin the first tests of her new feeding tube. Yesterday's new treatments did require even more additions to "Thor", so he is truly at a tipping point that we pray can begin to reverse course very soon.
In the midst of all her challenges yesterday, Lee wanted me to be sure and share that all of the flowers and cards she received were true blessings that helped her get through a very long day and made her feel so blessed and loved. We are fairly certain she now has more arrangements than many local florists!
Please be praying for the continued management of her pain and nausea along with the anticipated trial of her new feeding tube. Once again, thank you for the many ways you continually support and care for both of us!
