Home safely

The promised update is that Lee came through her shoulder surgery without any of the anesthesia complications that have marked some of her past procedures and she is safely back at home resting. The surgeon was able to reattach one tendon that had been torn loose and he worked to "clean up" some areas of the joint that had some bone spurs and other impingements that

were likely causing a significant amount of her pain. There were two additional tears that he was unable to repair but the hope is that continuing physical therapy and strengthening exercises will

bring added strength and stability. The immobilizer/sling they gave her is quite the contraption but it seems to be effective at holding things in the right position.

Thanks for your prayers and the many notes of encouragement throughout the day. Also, a special shout out to our friends who slipped in at the house while we were out and made sure the refrigerator and freezer are well stocked with meals for the next several days. For those who have asked about this or driving needs, we are in good shape for now but promise to use the calendar function here on the site to list any needs that may arise when Lee gets to start back with physical therapy over the next couple of weeks.
